We have gathered Black farmers from across Africa to join us in the One Hectare Sustainable Farm Project Initiative created by CEMT and the AIE Project in 2022. The CEMT African Land Bank Registry is to collect real-time data on the locations throughout the continent that we have chosen to be part of this project as we create the vertically integrated self-sustaining ecosystems across Africa.
First 30 Days - Design/Planting
60 Days - Re-Design/Irrigation
90 Days - Transplant/Harvest
Located in Tema, Ghana (sponsored by The African Diaspora Collective Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TADC-CCI) and the AIE Project, the original design of the One Hectare Sustainable Farm (OHSF) has components that must be organized per site location and so we tested our system in a space that we could manage daily while planting and designing the site with scalability in mind. The demonstration and training garden then became the site for creating living environments for the TADC-NSA (New School of Agriculture) International Organic Farming (IOF) Program Training. Monarch butterflies, lizards, frogs, pollinators, and plenty of worms and micro organisms have formed in our compost as well, creating the smaller pilot for site #1.
Shai Hills, Ghana our pilot site is 3 full acres in an existing water factory facility that we are utilizing for the wastewater for irrigation.
The old 40-foot container on site we are converting into our Security checkpoint, which is one of several on site the OHSF site.
The incomplete second floor will be used for the museum and gift shop, one of the revenue models of the OHSF business models.
We definitely needed taste testers for our old American classic fried okra that we harvested from our garden! The Ghana twist with gari (milled cassava) instead of flour created a surprise okra ball that we are currently selling in the community. Revenue from one piece of okra was 15 cedis ($1 USD) minus our expenses and time for cooking which was 100% organic and natural. Ths completing Step 3 and ready to scale to our 3 acre site for the demonstration area of the OHSF.
